DISCOVER THE POWER OF CODE

Little Coders is a non-profit organization founded in 2022. It offers free programming workshops for kids in partnership with various NGOs that support different communities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower kids from all backgrounds to showcase their innovative ideas through programming and bring positive impact to the society through our free-of-charge coding workshops.

Our Team

In 2022, Aydan founded Little Coders. He started to prepare Scratch lesson plans and deliver free workshops to kids at local NGOs that serve underprivileged communities. These workshops were well received by both the kids and their parents. Determined to reach out to more local communities, Aydan invited Allison and Daisy, who share the same vision of empowering kids from all backgrounds, to join Little Coders as Head of Operations and Head of Curriculum respectively.

Aydan Lau - Founder and Chief Instructor

Aydan is passionate about programming and believes that programming plays an important role in cultivating one’s logical thinking and problem-solving skills, which can be applied across different domains. Through self-study, Aydan took the UK Advanced Level (A-Level) Computer Science examination at the age of 13 in 2023, and impressively earned the top A* grade. Beyond his studies, Aydan has also joined various innovation/technology/programming competitions and has won both local and international awards. Intrigued by the beauty of the thinking process in programming, Aydan always wants to share the joy and fun of programming with kids. Knowing that many kids from underprivileged backgrounds may not have access to such experience due to lack of resources, Aydan is determined to make programming accessible to these communities, unlocking a new world of possibilities for them.

As Founder and Chief Instructor, Aydan’s major role is to explore partnership opportunities with NGOs and schools, deliver workshops and train tutors.

Allison Chan - Head of Operations

Driven by a love for empowering kids, Allison is deeply committed to share the crucial skills of technology and coding through Little Coders. She strongly believes in the transformative power of these skills, which are essential for future generations.

As the Head of Operations, Allison liaises with NGOs to ensure seamless coordination and smooth delivery of lessons, searches for resources to enhance the program, and promotes Little Coders through multiple social platforms, enabling us to connect with more NGOs, schools and tutors who are interested in our work. Guided by a personal passion for working with children and making a meaningful impact on their lives, Allison hopes to create an enriching environment where all kids can unlock their full potential.

Daisy Chen - Head of Curriculum

Daisy believes that children from all backgrounds should be able to experience the joy of coding. She has a deep appreciation for the skills of technology, which she has achieved high proficiency in over the past few years. After many coding projects of her own, Daisy is eager to share her love of the discipline to those who lack necessary resources, providing an eye-opening experience that will give them an opportunity to step into a new world.

Daisy acts as Little Coders’ Head of Curriculum. Her role is to prepare lesson plans tailored to different communities, train and manage a team of dedicated tutors, and assist Allison in promoting Little Coders to spread our impact to as many underprivileged communities as possible.

Our Work

To fulfil our mission of making programming accessible to all kids, we have established meaningful partnerships with local non-profit organizations in Hong Kong operating within underprivileged communities. By aligning with trusted NGOs who understand the unique challenges and needs of their local populations, we are able to tailor-make specific programming curricula for each community and deliver engaging workshops for kids that ignite their passion for programming. We also seek to work with schools that are looking to provide programming experience as an extra-curricular activity to students who may otherwise not have access to such experience. By establishing mutual trust and providing resources to different communities, we are steadily breaking down the barriers that have hindered technological education and empowering a diverse new generation of innovators to explore their innate creativity and problem-solving abilities.
